Pamukkale
is one of the marvel at the beauty of the springs in remote region of western.
Turkey on a bright sunny day will find the sight quite dazzling – rather like
looking at an ice fall on a glacier. The area
has been popular for many centuries, but the springs and the tufa must
have been here for very much longer. The medicinal and therapeutic properties
of some mineral waters have been recognized since ancient times, and the romans
built the thermal resort of Hierapolis around the springs here. The roman
resort has not survived the ravages of time as successfully as the tufa, although
the ruins can still be seen, but there is now a modern tourist spa resort built
on the same site.
The waters
of a geothermal area are invariably rich dissolved mineral salts, but the composition
of the salts varies from place to place depending on the composition of the
underlying rocks through which the waters flow.

Pamukkale adalah salah satu
keajaiban dari keindahan mata air diwilayah terpencil dibarat. Turki pada hari
yang cerah akan menemukan pemandangan yang sungguh mempesona – agak seperti
melihat es jatuh di gletser. Daerah itu telah popular selama berabad-abad, tapi
mata air dan batuan yang mengendap sudah ada disini lebih lama lagi. Pengobatan
dan terapi dari beberapa air mineral sudah diakui sejak zaman kuno, dan orang
romawi membangun penginapan bersuhu panas Hierapolis disekitar mata air disini.
Penginapan orang romawi tidak dapat diselamatkan dari kerusakan akibat waktu mengubahnya
menjadi batuan mengendap meskipun reruntuhan masih dapat dilihat, tapi sekarang
sudah ada penginapan spa modern untuk turis yang dibangun ditempat yang sama.
